Well ever since I saw a sav I have wanted a monitor but I have always had reasons not to get one, but now I can not find any reasons not to so I think over the summer I will get a monitor of some type
my two choices so far are a black roughneck or a peach throat
I don't want one that gets over 5 ft but I also want a challenge other than a chameleon that is all show and a few geckos the don't care weather the are held or not
I picked those two because they are available in canada and generally don't get much over 4 feet
also I found these are incredibly stunning animals
so I just need some help deciding which to get and which one is more active, shy, aggressive, bigger, handleable and easier to care for

I'd go with a peach throat - they tend to have a better disposition towards being handled if you get em' young, and they're better looking IMO.

Have you looked into black and white tegu?

yes I have but I am more interested in varanids
also I was thinking about adding blue tails to the list but Im having trouble finding info on them

how are the peach throats with handling? and will a 6x4x2 (lxhxw) be ok for one as all my sources say different things from a 4x2x2 - a 8x4x4

I don't think I can go that big and if i could I would get a black throat or dumeril I could do 8 long 4 tall and 2 or 3 wide but 4 is just too big

what other monitors do you suggest and what are roughnecks like?

I am really thinking either the peach throat or a B&W tegu
