I was at a LFS that was selling a small Mono bass about 2" long. I know these guys get large but what is a realistic size in the aquarium?

Could I have one in a 210g 72x24 footprint? I ask because of this fact; the largest caught on rod and reel was 22" and the largest by other means was 31".

In the home aquarium I doubt that big, right?

I want to keep it with a school of Red Hook silver dollars, how would they work out with these?

Also do they have a typical cichlid personality? You know owner recognition, beg for food, etc?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have seen mono's in excess of 20" in an aquarium......

A large mono and a school of silver dollars are not going to work well in the long run, may be good for a year IMO. Your 2" mono is going to be more than 12" in a year.

Is is due to aggression? Or just size issues?

I want a large fish that is a bit on the non territorial side. I currently have a Midas with the Red Hooks and he is just an aggressive bully. I'm also considering a Red Bay Snook which would be smaller than a bass, but not quite as cool.
