What kind of Peacock Bass could I get for my 180? I know I posted a similar thread about a month or two ago and I'm pretty sure most people said a mono or Kelberi would work. How about the Ocellaris or any others? How many could I put in a tank this size? I would kind of like to have 3 different species (1 of each only).

Also, could I put a larger Fire Eel or Datnoid in with them without any major problems?

In a 180 you could house a kelberi most comfortably and bahia's are found every where right now. Orino's would work as well. But your best off having a little more width....like 30-36". So in all reality a 225+ would be best for a few. YOu'll soon realize your addicted to pbass and will want more and you'll end up upgrading.

Yea itd be a bad idea if you want to make the 180 last 2 years or so. all others will survive pretty well for up to 2 years depending on water change and feeding habits but the width does become a problem once they reach full adulthood so a 250 to 300 is good for life.

Mono kelberi orinocensis would all do ok but like it's been said bigger is better. A lot of people house cichla with datnioids so that shouldnt be an issue

I can't and won't upgrade to a bigger tank. I already got a lot of money tied up into this one and I have to get my motorcycle fixed this year which will be around two grand. I do not have room for a bigger tank either. If no Peacock Bass will be ok for life in my 180 then I won't get any but I will get Datnoids and a Fire Eel almost for sure.
