Hi Guys,

A friend of mine asked for an update so that seemed like a good reason to get the camera out :)

Not much change in the way of the tank i am plenty happy with it now until i manage to get the size that i want, which i now have a good quote for. We are just doing some final tests to get a feel for the amount the electric will cost before placing the order.

Also, had to drop the water level a couple of inches, the appetite on these guys is amazing and they regularly not only scratch their head but cut it open, the Pinima really split his skull bad the other week so i thought enough was enough and dropped it, Funnily enough he can still hit the glass brace but if i keep them well fed his belly weights him down so the cuts and scrapes are few and far between.

The second Pinima who is blind in one eye is still highly aggressive and beats the rest up - its nothing unusual to see him plunge through a few feet of water to smash a much bigger mono in the ribs. I took a few pics to put him up for sale but just couldn't bring myself to do it, he is very special to me.

What would you guys do?

Anyway i hope you enjoy the pictures as much as i did (If your wondering why there is a blurry photo uploaded thats a shot of them when i showed them a pack of Hikari Gold, fair to say they got excited)

Here you can see an old pic of the two Pinima when i first got them.

In a pretty bad way so glad i came across them - very hungry at the time and clearly starved, they have never lost that desire for food.

Sorry for the dirty tank i am having major issues with mechanical filtration and the gravel, as much as a vacuum i just cant clean it so i think i will be returning to sand to keep water crystal clear.

Good stuff Ash! It's great to see them again. True heavy weights, I forget how big they are. I'm glad you had them. Couldn't have gone to a better home. What dimensions are you looking at for the new tank? You not tempted to pick up an azul from pier if there's any left?

Funnily enough neil posted a couple of weeks ago saying he was struggling to sell them, i just dont have a tank to put them in unfortunately otherwise i would have :(

I really am pleased with my Orino and although Pinima are not as desired as Azul/Kelberi i like them a great deal so will be sticking at that one - my only regret is not having your Kelberi too . . . maybe one day?

New tank has been quoted at 120"x48"x30" (LxWxH) We have a conservatory which isn't really used and so a large tank would be super, will be going halves on it with my grandad, he is a little chicken at the moment so still twisting his arm but we are both happy on the price so just a matter of time until i wear him down :D

How are you finding snakes? Got a green tree python yet?

Thats going to be one amazing tank. I can't wait to see it and will definitely come by next time I'm in Birmingham. Your orino is looking amazing. I'm sure it will be a quality specimen when it gets bigger. How much are Neils azuls? It's a shame you don't anywhere for some.
I'm really loving snakes right now. I have four all together and have plans for another two when I move out. I did get a stunning green tree python too.
