i have two juvi pbass @ almost 4 inches. their last vertical bar connects w/ its horizontal tail bar making a J shape. could this be a mono? the bars look like they are going to be solid which would probably mean ocellaris right? i'll post a picture later but just a few more details. their tail and fins are turning red. and their body is a greenish tan color.

thanks in advance.

i sorta figured but was hoping. what size should i check back to confirm?

thanks trust.

I have found that One of the easiest things to tell the difference is the placement of the spot on the tail. Monos will have it middle of the tail, Ocels will have it slightly higher than middle of the tail.

Also Ocels will have a red eye almost all the time where monos will have it when feeding or being aggressive only.

I will post a few picks of mine side by side in case that will help
