I have a 120 gallon long aquarium(72"x18"x21") with the fish I have listed in the My Tank Setup drop down under my avatar.
I was wondering seeing I keep 2 cups of marine salt in my tank if it was feasable to add either one or both of these fish into my set up?
If it will cause the fish any distress or shorten their life span I will consider something else. As I understand from studying the Mono Sebae need a higher SG as they grow older and having them in lower SG's can cause them to stress.
These will be 3" juvenile specimens and the fish I have will be perfectlly fine with. I would just love to see some big archer fish swimming at the top of the tank.

I was wondering if I should switch out the gold datnoids and plecos and keep the AT and NGT dat and make it a fully brackish tank?
Would that be better for the fish?

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

You have more than enough fish. Archers grows to 1' & monos are schooling fish that grow as large as your outstretched hand.

i would say as u dont have a very high sg then no 2 cups or marine salt in a 120 will hardly move the sg , i use 2 cups of instant ocean to get 3 gals upto 1.020 .

as for the archer most site say 12 inch but generaly smaller in aquaria i know ppl that have had them for years and not had them reach more than 6 inches so it seems to be very hit and miss with them.

Great6 shot of how large a common GF really gets!

I wouldnt worry about the archers hitting 1'. While they can, in an aquarium they'll top out at around 8". Same with monos, only a few specimens in the wild or monster aquarium will be as large as your hand.
I have archers and mono sebae's, and would recommend keeping them in a school of 4+ for each. They only need a hint of salt in their water.

I've got 3 and 3 now - just barely brackish in my 125 and they are doing wonderful. I've got those and some other little guys - may be overstocked when they get bigger but thats just an excuse to get a bigger tank right?
