Joey i think it has to do with what they are fed when they are young. I fed my mono's goldfish and alot of them, and they grew from 3" to over 12" in 8 months. I think pellets slow their grow, possibly because they dont eat as many as them like they tend to stuff themselves on goldfish?

I just loves these pbass, so many fish I want! I need to just get a swimming pool and fill it with fish! beautiful color.

Exactly, I've had this guy for almost a year now and I've tried to powerfeed him on live, beefheart & shrimp just for him to get some size. This guy probably grew an inch..... I love it though because he will be with for a long time :headbang2
 
Are these plastic fish toys ???? hahahaha...... STILL BANGIN.... "J" wow...

Grew up on pellets. Perhaps the growth is stunted or was just the runt of the pack. Nevertheless just an amazing looking mono.
