I'm likein the few bright almost neon Mono's and Kelberi's I see but i'm seeing alot of dull colorless ones also what would I need to do to make sure mine turned out VERY bright with a nice hump
1. Genetics (can't control this)
2. Diet (a varied and complete diet is best)
3. Water chemistry ( do a lot of water changes your p-bass will thank you)
PH could also be a factor but I wouldn't go messing with your ph just keep it stable

Wild caught Peru Monos tend to be very showy when they mature. Here is a pic of one that I grew from 4" to about 17" before he passed. Was an awesome fish.
