Monos don't look the same.. ID ?

Got 2 Monos at 1.5" few months back. One is 5". The other is slow growing at only 4" maybe slightly less but the smaller one looks like it has orino traits ? They are from same batch well were In same tank at least here are the pics .. First pic is the 5"er. Second pic is the one I think looks different has a lot of spots / spangles

Yea that's what I'm thinking .. Plus the fact that he's growing slower like Orinos do makes me believe he's orino mono mix or orino his head looks the same as my mono though

How big are these guys? If they are 5"-6" then if Orino, it would be showing body speckling by now - the yellow lining around the ocells in the second pic does throw me off a bit and IMO could mean a couple things, hybrid Orino/ PU Mono or Ocell. Nice lil surprise though for a "Mono" purchase huh.. Guess time will tell and we'll have to see what he ends up morphing into at around 12".

There is no orino in this fish. Its just a regular Monoculus. Not all look the same, some will have more spangling then others. Nice fish though

People like this KILL me.. At least put a (IMO) in your statement bra.. You don't know for sure what this cichla is for sure unless it's an F1 and you seen the parents... "There is no orino in this fish. Its just a regular Monoculus." Come on dude, really.... Whatever!

For all anyone knows this could be one of those wild creations that continuity go on over in Taiwan and it could be a mix of three different sp... Either way NO ONE can say for sure at this point and why this drives me crazy when people do this -

Lol agree. .. In person I think it looks similar to my orinos but time will time

IMO, those are monos. there are so many different types of monos its easy to think one is a mono and another is a hybrid. check out pictures of peruvian monos vs. farmies. check out some pics of Ocells from guyana. You'd swear those were monos at 4" too. just my opinion.

just appreciate the beauty of the fish and stop worrying too much about that stuff.
