Nice monos. I was thinking of buying them from you a while back but too far to travel. I recently picked up five nice big monos though.
Perhaps yours may have looked like this

there are techniques for transporting large cichla

1. starve the cichla for a week before transporting so they crap themselves n poison themselves with ammonia

2. use ammonia remover n little stress coat while transporting them

3. plenty of oxygen, portable air pump helps. or poly box thats not seeled with plenty of car movement to oxygenate the water:D

4. put your foot on the pedal:D n dont drive like a p....

ive transported x4 large cichla twice with no probz

I sold my big monos and tems but hung onto my pinima, kelberi and some small orinos. Ended up selling all my tanks but one, ready to move house. I also sold my orinos to Ash (bones66). I recently picked up five large monos to go with the kel and pinima. Just saving for a big tank now. Hopefully when it's all up and running I can find an orino and maybe a temensis. I only plan on keeping cichla right now. They are by far my favourite fish.

the starving is the key, did you starve the mono the man had before he took it?

i did starve them but not for a week though, the problem was that he got a small bucket to transport them, which is not ideal
