Hey guys. I have been boggling the thought of getting Peruvian Mono's for my 400 gallon tank and I was thinking on getting about 6. Tank is 100"x36"x26" plus my barred Midas and my 19" pleco have to go in as well. You think I am good? Filtration is an Eheim 2260, FX5, and 2 AC 110s. Oh and I am getting the Mono's from Rapps. I have never kept PBass and I thought I would start with Mono's or Orinos. This is only a thought though because I am thinking of dedicating the tank to Vieja or more parachromis species.

The Cichla you get from Rapps are going to be 1-3"

How large is the barred Midas? I haven't read your threads lately so i don't know.

That tank would last for quite a while with Monoculus ;) Though the aggression level of the Midas is the only issue.. And size.

I would get the bass and grow them in something like a 5 ft tank and when they are about 8-10" swap them with the midas. I wouldn't keep them together. It depends what you prefer, cichla or vieja. I like cichla but I have seen some awesome tanks with vieja communities. A mix of argentea and zonatus or fenestratus would be awesome.

Well I was ofcourse going to grow out the little Mono's and then put my Midas in which is about 10" right now but I am starting to drift off from PBass because of the Midas. He is hell in water. He so damn aggressive he takes on everything and bites the hell out of me. Attacks the glass no stop as well. So I am thinking he wouldn't fit in with cichla as he would probably kill them within minutes of adding him in ( when the cichla are 10"+ of course.)
