for our 6 year anniversary, my gf wanted a tank for her little fish, see all my other tanks are big fish or well not little enough to fit in there mouths. I got a 150 XH with stand for cheap. This tank will be tetras, guppies, and swordtails. first question; how do you manage a tank that size, lol didn't realize till I set it up; I am 6'2 and can hardly get my hand half way. beside peaceful cichlid what is a large fish I can get as a "centerpiece"... my stock so far will be 10x Buenos Aires, 10X bleeding hearts, 10x red eye tetra, 10 guppies, 2x BN pleco and a few swordtails. any suggestions on another school, barbs maybe?? idk. This is mainly my gfs tank, so that's why a few smaller schools than a big one.

I have an argentea in my tank with small angels and he is super cool. In fact the angels usually pick on him lol I have not tried him with guppies or tetras but he might be ok.

I would add serpae tetras, giant danios, or elegant rasboras, all underated fish, imho.

Yes, tetras will pester guppies - AND angels. I think that a mostly Tetra tank would be really nice looking, with some Cory cats, Pictus cats, maybe some danios and barbs.

Why do pretty much all girlfriends that show ANY interest in fish at all like community fish only LOL.

I like the trio of angels idea. :) Aside from other peaceful cichlids nothing else really comes to mind. Cherry barbs are a cutsie little fish, I also have a soft spot for white cloud minnows (plus theyre bullet proof).
