i want some suggestions on monster fish from south america and the amazon, i need some monster catfish from the amazon and other fish.

aimara with tank mates?
I have an 8 inch aimara who seems pretty mellow. I am tempted to try him with a tank mate. Ideally I want to try a royal knife. Anyone here successful keeping them with friends

Aimara isn’t really going to like tankmates as more than food options. Anything else is going to be a threat to it.
Again, actual dimensions would help with that (a 300 that is only 2 feet wide, for example, won’t house many monsters at all).

Yeah.....chances are the only "monster" you will eventually wind up with in that tank will be the aimara.
