Monster article in AQM

I havent read it yet, but just flipping through my AQM, they have an article on "filtration for BIG FISH." Anybody read it yet? It looks like AQM is truning MFK

Howdy,

I got my issue yesterday and read the article right away. I was majorly disappointed. This article did not elaborate on different types of filtration, did not address selection of media or anything. The only two statements this article brought across were:

1) get a filter that's designed for a bigger tank than what you have
2) do lots of water changes.

Basically, it was more of a "waterchange" article than about filtration.

Is it just me, or has this magazine not had any good, detailled articles lately? I enjoyed their "MonsterFish" article last Summer, it stated specific fish and their needs (on the low end). But that's about it on good articles This filtration article had great potential, but it did not deliver.

It seems like they are more geared towards betas, guppies, breeders and helping the biginner hobbyist. Not a bad thing, but for us... eh.

They are. Most articles are small community, some cichlids, and marine. Anything that gets over a foot is deemed "too big for aquarium". They do have great pics and good articles on community fish, but definitely not ]v[onster yet.

I read the article and did not find that It had all that much info. It was interesting, but I was looking for more secrets.
