on an icecube.....
if i build a large pond iam pretty sure that i would like to stock it with some kind of catfish but i have some questions, the smallest pond iam building(but iam trying to go bigger) will be about 5'X5'X18"-20" what kind of cats can be housed in this pond for life? is sand a good substrate for the bottom? and is there anyone from B.C. canada that keeps monster cats?

thanks!

do some a red tail..and a tig..that would be sweet and sand should be fine..i would do a nice ray tooo..that would be noice

I disagree with dovi88 a red tail and a tig. would not fair well in the canadian weather unless your plan is to take them in whenever it gets cold. im in michigan and i wouldnt do it.

sorry forgot to mention this will be an indoor pond in the basement or liveing room

iam wondering how do you cycle a big pond/tank for large fish? and how long would it take a RTC to out grow that size pond? and is there any fish that can live with a RTC at full size?

You would cycle a pond that size the same way you would any other tank or pond. Throw in a few inexpensice hardy fish (NOT FEEDERS). I wouldnt go with a red tail as they get huge and eat a ton even compared to fish their size. I would definately not combine a red tail and a tig because i would be really upset when my $500+ tig got eaten by a $20 red tail. A tig would be fine in that size enclosure for life. Some other cats you could go with would be juruense, irwini, marble cat or lima

I live in B.C Canada and I have many different large cats!! none would do well out doors evan in summer, but if you are building an indoor pond like me then there are many different large cats that make good pets!!!

neat i dident think anyone around here kept large cats but you have loads!! :D

if you dont mind my asking pleco-nation ware did you get your tsnXrtc hybrid and how much was it? and what size tanks do you have for all those cats?

and when i build my pond it will be inside the house(someware....)

there are a few of us who keep large cats mine are all small right now and have about 7 tanks up right now ranging from 80 to 150 gal! my pond will be built when I move in a few months!
