I'm just wondering what are some good fish to keep with monster size fish that will clean up and eat bits of dropped food and also possibly clean some algae growth on the sides of the tank rocks etc. I was thinking some type of bottom feeder I read striped Leporinus pick off the bottom pretty well as do pictus and plecos clean surfaces well but plecos produce so much waist and striped Leporinus are known as fun nippers while I fear a pictus would be eaten any good clean up crews for large fish?

I once had large breeding colonies of Endlers and red cherry shrimp with my 12''+ pirayas.
And spotted Raphael catfish.

Apple snails with my wolf.

It worked great.

Flag tails would be a good option. I have one with 5 bass and it does an excellent job clean after those pigbass. Haha

This is the sole reason I keep my silver dollars. They're awesome at picking up the bits and pieces that don't make it into my monsters' mouths.

I would recommend some scats because they CLEAN any food left in the tank, whether it be high or low, but they turn into monsters themselves at 10-12".

+1 for big fat armored Raphaels, Synodontis, Eclipse, Channel, Pimelodus, Plecos......anything armored, I try groups of 3 when I have the space for it, raphaels and synodontis especially

Either a big fat armored catfish or a school of silver dollars. Just keep in mind that they'll need to be fed as well, they can't live on scraps. Plecos are bad scavengers, they're hugely messy and don't really pick up food anyway.
Cherry shrimp might also work, depending on the fish. They could be too small to interest your predators.
