a buddy of mine does a lot of deep sea fishing and has left over anchovies all the time from fishing.

he has offered to freeze his leftovers if i want them to feed to my fish. in my big tank i've got oscars, jags, a TSN, a big aro and a few convicts for dithers.

i know that anchovies are salty, but will my fish eat them or should i not chance it? if it works it will be awesome because it will be a great free food source.

You can go ahead and feed them the anchovies. I wouldn't suggest making that their only food source. I like to buy a mix of shrimp, mussels, oysters, and other seafood as a treat for my fish. I use jumbomin and cichlid sticks as their staple, I also feed them earthworms, bloodworms, and beefheart.
A well rounded diet is better for the fish. I also think they grow faster with a better diet.
