Monster fish bites!!

I'm sure everyone has read how pacu eat nuts in the wild (and I'm not referring to New Guinea fishermen). Pacu have very strong powerful jaws. One of my pacu bit me, but fortunately he didn't bite the finger tip, and he was only checking things out and wasn't actually trying to eat me. I was waggling my fingers in front of him, so it was totally my fault. I have never trusted him since then. Pacu are very curious and use their mouths and teeth to check things out. My big boy Adonis has tried to bite the scrub brush when I've cleaned the tank. My Leonardo has never tried to bite me. A few months ago I carelessly forgot to put two tank lids back in place. Leonardo managed to jump up and slice off his lower lip on a tank lid edge. Until then, I had never seen his teeth. They are pretty scary looking.

My poor boy lost his grin when he lost his lower lip :(

My boys like to swim and rub against my hand when I'm tank cleaning. I'm a lot more wary of those teeth, now that I can see them :) I really don't want to have an encounter with those teeth....

my jags have drawn blood on me a couple times now. i swear they dig up there air stone every other day so i put my hand in and they try to bite me. I smack them first now lol

lol never had a fish bite m..... well yet any way but I did have a nice 250r 3 wheeler atv decide it wanted some baby back ribs when I was 8 cut me from my belly button all the way up to my nipple and my bottom 3 ribs were poking out and u could see my innerds so now I have a nice smiley face scare now that looks like I served in ww1 lol

I have never been tagged by my gar or aba aba... and don't intend to ever be... my eel has nipped at me abit but I hand-feed her so it's to be expected and she has more combs then actual teeth.. but a powerful chomp like a boney tounge. when/if she hits 3' I might be more careful!

My friend had about a 15" african lung fish we would hand feed. One time he got my index finger so out of reaction i pulled my hand out of the tank. He didn't let go and ended up half way across the room on the floor. The fish was fine my finger was gushing

I have a tendency to want to hand feed all of the fish at my work, this has lead to me getting nailed by the 3.5 ft silver aro, the 3 ft rtc, and some of our large red belly piranha in our display tanks. Luckily I haven't been bitten by any of our cat sharks, cali rays, or morays yet, but they'll probably get a taste of me in time haha

I haven't been bit, but i have been stung by a catfish. I was not thinking when i caught a catfish and tried to pick it up with my hands when it was flopping on the ground. When i felt a sharp sting, i remembered that some catfish have spines on them. I am still alive lol

Pacu mom, your baby looks like the walking dead. lol. I know what you mean about the tank lid though. I don't know what mine got a hold of but his upper jaw got so tore up I think either bone or tooth was trying to show through. It's healing though. Probably have a clef.

My male clownfish actually took a chunk out of my knuckle when I didn't feed him fast enough. Definitely was not expecting that from him.
