Put your hand in my foot long Oscar mouth and see what happen. Lol I feed my Oscar with tongs and turkey baster and both tools are heavily scratch up. Yeah they have teeth, might not be big ones but I can see it drawing blood.

Texas Cichlid went after my arm a couple years ago and drew blood, didn't hurt but freaked me out to the point I'll only clean his tank when he's sleeping.

i tried hand feed my florida gar when he was 11 inches... actualy didnt hurt felt like sand paper i guess because he wasnt fully developed yet.....now he's about 16 inches and fat so i wont be doing that any more lol

I hand feed my little cichla lol. Ive been nipped. Not monster yet but I better quit doing it now.

Yeah they have some pretty good teeth nothing like a parachromis but still can draw blood. A store by me used to have a tropical pond with redtail cats Oscars and gar. I used tease the Oscars but occasionally they would get me. They were about 10 or 11 inches and they still drew blood so I bet a full grown Oscar would have a nasty bite

Here's a nip that my 10" Oscar gave me. You can clearly see teeth scrapes. View attachment 945332

Ouch! Well, that at least makes me feel alot better knowing now for a fact that they are just "Play" biting me. They are indeed smart fish and I do so enjoy them.

I did have to get this bad boy out of their tank for their protection, and I am glad I did. They love roughhousing with the four Bowfins now, and only when meat is dropped in the tank they fully understand that they don't mess with that crew!

Had a pair of Jags breeding and decided to clean the tank. The male grabbed my arm and threw it out of the tank. If you look close you can see the 3" scar from 15years ago.
