Does anyone out there know what types of freshwater Monster Fish are legal to import in Hawaii? So far the only cool ones I know of are peacock bass (which I have and love), arowana, oscars (do they fall into the monster category?), and maybe Jaguars but they dont get that big.

Arowana, JAG's and to some O's would fall in the monster category:)

You may want to go fishing in some of the canals, I've seen photos of some pretty fabulous midevils and managuense caught, in what may be close to your back yard.

It should be great to go out for fishing and come home with a wild jag or some sort. must move there.

Some years ago my friend came back from one of our local streams here in Hawaii with some sort of midas devil looking creature. It was about 3 inches and just grayish looking, but after a year in my brother's makeshift outdoor pond and eating the minnows he had in there, it developed wild red, black and orangey yellow markings all over. It looked pretty awesome! Unfortunately we had to dismantle the pond and we gave the fish away to another friend.

that is a very good way of having fish. here we only have to buy from petshops, or have to put trust on the importers to bring the fish you want. lucky you.
