It's a big fish with a long snout with lots of big teeth like a a gator.You'll know when you see one.

there is no such thing as a spotted alligator gar! it's either a spotted gar or and alligator gar!

it is just a color variety of gator gar or a wash out alligator gar or it is too stress and lose its color that a gator gar doesn't have spot!

and BTW, most of young gator gar that I see have spots, but some lost them when they grow up!

I have a spotted alligator gar also, I keep it with my south african purple bellied hippofish, but i'm looking to sell that to make room for an antartican penguin finned troutasaurus
