i ordered a monster or monkfish through my lps but can not find any info that is helpful. im sure they will eat anything they can get their mouths on but what will eat them? is ph or temp an issue for them? i felt safe ordering this fish that i could research it and set up the required habitat for him. any advice or info would be great thanks

are you certain that is what it was, not the South American FW toadfish labeled as "prehistoric monsterfish"

all it said was monsterfish and when i called the supplier he said also called monkfish. It was listed under tropical not marine but my 55gal is slightly brakish for my eels and dragon gobies.

I assume it's Thalassophyrne amazonica, commonly called a "monsterfish".

Thank you SimonL. I am hoping that is what I ordered. Though Im sure my feeders are hoping it isnt. The other monsterfish or monkfish info was for marine fish that grow to 5 ft. I appreciate the advice nontheless.

It could literally be anything. Monsterfish, Dragonfish ect are all names which mean nothing and are just used to entice amateur fish keepers.
