dang took me like 15 min for me to load this post window
but anyways- i was just pictureing a guy trying to do this in vz or something- and i was thinking what if they stick their hands in a 4-5' aimara's or other monsters mouth..i'd laugh my ass off
-even those cats made some nice bleeding...

In the UK this technique is known as guddling the term used for hand fishing but not being so hard core in the uk (Tickling or Guddling Trout)
losing fingers is a real risk, whether from the bite or infection. A slight danger of drowning exists, as most holes are far enough down in the water that diving is required to reach into them.
Far more dangerous than catfish are beavers and snapping turtles, who will take over abandoned catfish holes as homes of their own. i did a thred on it a while back take a look at this one. its a more pleasing on the eye

I noodle every now and then. Itll make your butt hole pucker a bit when you reach your arm down in a deep dark hole!
Ive never caught anything large, but Ive caught many species of fish other then cats. Catfish are th easiest to catch cause they just sit there and pretty much let you pick them up.
