Monster Gret White spotted off NC coast

For those that haven't already heard - this past weekend(Thankgiving weekend) a small group of fishermen spotted a large(estimated to be at least 18ft) Great White Shark as it circled their boat(about 20-21ft long) for nearly 20 minutes.

Great Whites aren't common in North Carolina Waters. So a large 18 footer is an unusual sight. Also it should be noted that the Shark was only caught on film - and not harmed in any way.

Yeah - according to some of limited data collected on NW Atlantic Great Whites - they seem to winter near the Georgia & Florida Coasts, and Summer along the in New England coasts. So that would mean that the NC coastal waters would be a spring & fall pit stop.

Still it's nice to see a 18 footer in these waters.

I'm pretty happy they are still up and down the Eastern seaboard. I'd love the chance to see one in person.

hopefully people embrace these sharks as opposed to villianizing them
