i had a savanah monitor once.. it was about 3 and a half feet long and loved being out of its cage and held.. does anyone keep them or have pics..

a tank at least 5 feet long and 3 feet wide but i would recomend a tank at 6 foot long and 4 wide
tank is easy mine was home made by someone.. it was top with lids back and bottom and 3 front braces with a wire cage... i think it was doubled chicken wire..
i had a savannah that was about 2 feet and my buddy had one that was pushing 4 with the tail and his was fat as hell. i used to let mine roam around the livingroom if he hadnt ate recently. my buddies lived outside. i live in so cal and it apparently loved it because it is still around to this day. mine ended up becoming an hornery bastard and bit me on my thumb and wouldnt let go. serves me right though for all the rats i sacrificed showing my friends how he wouldnt LET GO of his food. i could hold a rat by the tail and lower it into the savannah's tank hed literally jump up a good 8 inches or so and crush the rats head and not let go. i could walk around my house and swing the lizard back and forth and he just kept going crazy. Maybe that is why he got mean. hahaha. anyways i gave him to my ex because she was the only one he wouldnt bite. i had mine in a 60 gallon terrarium at first and then built him a new toy box style home. just 4 sides and wide and deep enough that he could feel comfortable. i put a piece of plywood over the top at night, otherwise he was uncovered and heated by the sun lamp all day.
Yes, my nephew and I have 5and half foot savanah,6foot nile and a monitor we bouth at a flea market years ago and it is a beautiful green and reddishand this monter is 7 feet.....I cant post pictures but I can e-mail them if someone would but them up.........
