Where eva theres Cichla!!!
For months now i've been looking for new tank mates for my jardini, and yesterday i went to my lfs, and asked my mate there what he could do for me, and he showed his current stock and i was amazed, he had, mature mangrove jacks, peacock bass, clown knife's, jaguar cichlids (i bought 1 :)) and datnoids!
What do u guys think would make a tankmate for my jardini, jag, oscars ?

personally, i like severums, tri-color/bala sharks, firemouths, plecos

Jars are very aggressive towards other tankmates. Oscar are like ticking time bomb and jags are crazy. How big is your tank by the way?

datnoids will be well with ur jardini and from expeirience dont put the mangrove jack that thing is really aggresive.

From what I have heard, go with Dats.

I cannot find any food that my starfish will eat. What do they like the most? Anyone?

Wy does my handle say fathead minow underneath???

For anyone, what is the basic growth rate for shovelnose cats? In addition to Fabio(Green Eel), I have monsters to be. Can someone help me on this question so I may plan my future as far as tank arrangements go.

You will need to put the starfish question up in the saltwater/brackish forum to get the attention of the people who would know , it would help if you tell us which species or post a picture with it as different species have different requirements, also how long have you had it and how are you keeping it, would be good info to include.

The title fathead minnow is just related to the number of posts you have made, you start as an egg and the title changes as you get more posts, some members have asked that the title be changed, in my case to something silly.

Now on your shovelnose, we need to know which type of shovelnose it is. The maximum size and growth rates differ a lot between species.
If it is a TSN (tiger shovenose) (Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum) they can get over 40" long and grow quickly. when kept in good conditions a 2" baby can reach 10" in 4 months, 18" in 12 months, and 36" in 36 months. This picture is from a site called fishbase.

By the way, welcome to MFK.
