Hi all. I'm trying to help someone who works in a nursing home that has a 16" Pacu that they would like to go to a good home, free. The picture isn't great but he seems to be in pretty decent shape. He's located in Clifton NJ and all you need to do is show up!
Welcome to the forum! That fish is a beast!
Try posting on the selling sub forum, it will get more traffic there.
I wish I had a tank big enough for one of these guys! I’d pick it up in a heartbeat if I did.
I saw an add for a fish feed at a local nursing home in Clifton this morning. Claimed exotic fish on the menu.
Give House of Fins or Manhattan Aquarium (NY Aquarium Service) a call they might have a client with a big enough tank.
Contacting an aquarium would be a good idea. They are some of the only people who can house a pacu. Camden aquarium doesn’t take exotic fish though (I asked when I had to get rid of pacu).
Municipal/ large aquarium exhibits need people’s pacus about as badly as the zoo needs people’s red tail boas and Burmese pythons.
Just a fact of life. Private collector or bust kind of scenario.
