i live in south FL and i want to make a pond with monster fish in it but i'm worried it wil get too hot in the summer.

i was thinking about an aro and a stingray and probably a few koi.
i dont think the stingray would though.

please help

I wouldnt put any of those fish in a outside pond. Arowanna would most likely jump out or get stolen. The ray I would be worried about the water quality outside and it getting stolen. I would think if you are worried about it getting too hot for tropical fish then it would get way too hot for koi as they are cold water. I would go with a bunch of large cichlids and to beat peanut power to it some pikes. Oh yea and i would deffinatly put a ton of shade in the pond and make it pretty deep and u shouldn't have any problems. That is just what I think. But I kno the shade would be vital to keep them from getting too hot.

you can put any fish in the pond you want if you fill it with plants it will keep the water quality fine. it needs to be deep to keep it cool so a stingray would be a waste of money because you would never see it. koi would be fine but might anoy the arowana. i live in fl and know many people with ponds and like was said earlier shade plants around the pond would also be a great benefit

and about them getting stolen it is very hard to steal a 3 foot arowana but a family of racoons would love it

I would do peacock bass in pond if lived in florida - that would be really cool

they are known to thrive in a number of waterways down there

If for aro or ray....indoor will be best...
if you want to keep koi....then you may go for outdoor pond...

your idea sounds awesome and after all it is your pond and u need it how u want it. just research before and u should be fine
