Well made some progress towards getting my first monster tank up and running. Got the filter and started building the stand. I know alot of guys thought we should have wood being here in CA. But I wanted something cheap, fast and strong. So I deciding to mortar some 16 x 8 cinder block together. I still have to make the top and cut the foam to size. I am also considering putting a lip on the top and making doors for the stand. Each hole is 18.5" wide and 24" tall. The stand is 86" Long, 27" tall so far. This is my first try at mortaring, so it's a bit messy. But it's level
And if it bothers me I can always get the wire brush out and clean up the excess. .
Just gotta wait 24hrs for the grout to dry before I can put any weight on it.
Enjoy, and more picts to come as the tanks come online.
