Hey Everyone,

I currently have a 5x 32” x 2 aquarium with my RTG arowana, BD stingray and Pearl x BD stingray (plus 4 geophagus Daemon which I’m trying to sell). And I’m looking to upgrade in the next 3-6 months. Currently the tank is bare with some sand and gravel but I have a large piece of bog wood I’m wanting to incorporate back into the tank and into the upgrade as well, plus maybe a few round stones etc.

The tank im looking at getting is an 8x3x2.5 providing the quote isn’t through the roof. I’m also planning to run an 8 ft planted sump on it as well. I’ve pretty much planned the tank out, however I’m really struggling with additional stocking ideas. I have the two male rays and the arowana but would like to add a few more fish in. I’m a huge fane of rare and exotic stuff, I don’t want any P bass or oscars etc. I like the look of Megalodoras uranoscopus. But after some research it look as if they do nothing all day long. Another fish that caught my eye was Brachyplatystoma capapretum but not sure if this would work in that size aquarium. Any suggestions of fish to add bar the usual stuff? I’d really like a few catfish or a couple of active swimmers. I don’t want to over stock the tank but 5/6 fish total would be ideal :)

thanks

Good call on adding the wood. I would also suggest adding some fake plants or natural decor of choice, to make it look as much as possible like the wild. The fish would really appreciate it.

As for stocking, I would look into some of the bigger species of pictus catfish, like 4-line pictus catfish or ornate pictus catfish. If you want active swimming catfish, these could work.

Brilliant thank you for the reply, yeah I think I definitly need a bit of decor with the catfish. Okay I will do some research on these species. Other idea was 3 Asian arowana and 3 male stingrays but I'm not sure if this tank is large enough for all those. Maybe someone with knowledge on keeping multiple Asian arows together could assist?

Cheers
