After growing in the hobby for 17 years from my first 5.5 to my latest 280 gallon, ive grown tired of big monster fish and hve decided to rediscover the charm of small community fish. I have sold my 280, donated my 5 year old niger cat to the zoo and am selling a few leftovers. Im so tired of seeing post and craigslist add about pacus, redtail cats and other monsters packed into unfit aquariums. It nice to sit back and watch fish swim freely in a tank that they will never outgrow.
Does anyone else share this feeling?

While I do understand the appeal of the smaller fish (:woot: cories!), I don't understand selling a 280. I'm upgrading to a 245 and am looking forward to moving the cories from their 55G to the old 90G just as much as getting the new tank.
think of all the cories you could have fit in a 280...

The 280 took up 1/3 of my dining room. I sold it to make room for my grandmothers dining room set that she left me when she passed. There was no other place in the house for 18 sq ft of fish tank

Yeah, I've been having like minded thoughts of late.. Its so much more relaxing and peaceful to watch fish happily swim around in tanks they won't out grow. As soon as I can get rid of my pacu, I'm gonna make my six foot by 3 foot 240 gallon a community tank..

I felt the same way and I turned my tank into a geo tank with some sterbai cory cats and a few sevs and I love it except my new geo has an attitude like a red devil but I just got him today so he should calm down
