Look I know that while angels and discus are technicaly cichlids... well they are hardly monster fish are they? thier delicate and are a far cry from large sizes. i guess i just don't see the connection.

No, not really monsters except in comparison to themselves but members keep them and questions come up so why not?

Monster isnt size. Its attitude.
its not necesarily the monster in the fish, as it is the monster in the keeper:)

when i think of monster i think of size

When i began in aquariophily (1989) I worked in with a fish saler. I have just set a nice big tank with a pair of angels, a pleco, a lot of plants. One mounth a pack with 100 neons was may payment. In the end of the next mounth all of them was eaten!! Monsters or not, they ate my neons!!

This is a great forum about monster fish. I joined because I really enjoy my Largemouth Bass and this is the perfect forum to talk about this species. I also keep platys, swordtails, plecos, corys, loaches, bullhead, NEON TETRAS, and barbs. This is a great forum to discuss these species as well, and I don't think MFK would be as great if it weren't well-rounded. Having said that, watching a big fish devour a smaller one is AWESOME!
