let me hear how u guys do your water change fast and less money spend? i got 210 on the basement ...took forever to drain 40% of water out by the python .so i was think get a pump and some hose just drop the pump to the bottom drain it out ..a lil $$ but faster...let me hear your idea

what's your filtration? If you have a canister, you can use the output hose to drain the tank very quickly

So do you use the python to clean and then use the pumps to empty the rest of the water - up to what ever % you want?

Isn't there a way to have the water constantly being changed.. slowly???

I am trying to find a 210 now and would really prefer to have it be a constant water change - that way I would just vac once a week to get the 'dirt' out - quick and easy.

I have heard about these setups, but never really understood how they work.
Any one with experience - or even a little knowlege.. please explain !!

no canister just big sump with external pump

Well there you go! Just like Onion01 suggested, put a "T" in the output of the pump with 2 ball valves to divert the water flow to the drain. If you need to pump this 'up' the pump may now be able to handle the head pressure (just a thought).

dr joe correct me if im wrong. even put the "T" on the outlet of the pump and lets it drain out ....when the water hit below the overflow box ,the water in the tank will stop go down to the sump..when i change the water i need 40% gone.

we have a wiener!!!

easiest thing to do is get either a powerhead or submersible pump with a hose long enough to go out the window or drain, then just place the pump/PH in the tank for draining...
