This is a pain haha. Been looking for 7 months!!! Does ANYONE know where I can buy snakeheads .. ideallyyy dwarf snakeheads (channa bleheri, channe pulchra) etc.. And that can ship them to me in NL, Canada. I have been looking for a good while. this is not easy. can ANYONE help?

like where? could you help me? my LFS's can only bring in a few species which none are dwarf .. all grow to 2+ feet. canadian aquatics brought in some channa bleheri the other day. $20 each which wasn't bad but on the very opposite side of the ccoutry so the shipping was crazy. I was gonig to buy three and the box is big enough for 10-12 easy to keep them alive obv. so the shipping was a fair bit more then the fish themselves. anyone help me out?

I'm not so familar with the geography up that way or should I say over that way.....More than likely the contacts I have would require shipping and you would be in same boat as before-

not all over Canada. they are illegal here in ontario. probably because the great lakes are right here and the northern snakehead has been found in them.

I believe you can own them (ie if you had one before the law took effect you are okay)

but you cannot sell or trade them. so if you have one and you need to get rid of it, it must be destroyed as far as I know. you cannot sell or give it to someone else...

ya that's in Ontario .. they are still legal in most of canada. they are legal here in nl .. LFS's can still bring in the bigger species. the smaller ones are just harder to find. I know some people in Quebec have them but none that can ship them to NL. and shipping prices in a bigg box from Vancouver is expensive. anyone else?
 
Eh just wish I lived in canada so I could have a snakehead, STUPID Laws SUCK!
