I have a tank which i cleaned really good after its days as a plant tank... Now i think i killed all the snails inside the tank but I'm afraid of the snails that are inside the filter... If i was to blast the tank which has no fish inside with a load of salt and after a long time lean out the salt tell their is no snails/bac . I don't need bac or anything like that yet cuz i have sponge filters ready to go in another tank plus i can start a fresh cycle after i run a salt cycle to cleans of snail/eggs... thanks....

That is one way to approach it... Just be sure to swish everythign around in the tank to ensure salt hasn't settled into pockets/creavices. Keep in mind water has a saturation point at which no more salt will dissolve.

But, if removing snails from the filter is your only consern, why not just clean/treat the filter and it's media?

Are your snails really so tough you cannot dissassemble and physically remove them?

A similar approach to what you've considered, hook the filter up to a bucket, pitcher or other container and run it. This way you can treat the filter without putting a bunch of salt in your aquarium.

With this approach, you could also consider using bleach which will ensure the snails are ALL dead. Keep in mind Bleach is basically concentrated chlorine, so a dechlorinator will also neutralize bleach. So rinse it as best you can followed by pushing some dechlorinator thorugh it.

Well the fish tank was a mess with snails before and i just want them all gone out of the filter nooks and areas i cant clean by hand.... I pretty much rubbed down the tank with CLR to remove old water stains. So im looking and i dont see any jelly eggs... So maybe ill do the bucket idea... Will one or two cycle of bleach work?

10 parts water / 1 part bleach is strong enough to kill even the toughest of snails...

I would set the filter up on a bucket using water of this concentration and let it run for abotu a day, that should kill any/everything...

Then dispose of the bleach/water and refill with fresh water. Let it run like this for 30 minutes (or more)... repeat, repeat, repeat...

When you feel it is thoroughly flushed, add some dechlorinator just to be safe. I'm only guessing at this part, but I would guess 1/8~1/4 cup would be enough to neutralize any little bit of bleach that is left over... Probably less...

What fish are you going to add to the tank? I have a cichlid/loach tank that I dump 15 or 20 snails from my planted tank each week and haven't ever seen one more than 2 days after I put them in. Apparently they're pretty tasty if you're a clown loach :)

I had a puffer i had all the snails eaters but now its just to show case One of my Discus.... They some times eat snails... HOw long can snails live with out water? I had this tank dismounted for months and its just been sitting.... but i think it has water in it lol...
