I have had a male and female montoro for the last month. They are about 6"-7" in diameter and have been doing great. There have been no variables in the parameters of their tank with the exception of another airstone last Wednesday. I arrived home last night and the female was on her back with her disk curled upwards (like a cup). She appeared to notice me and righted herself. I monitored her for about ten minutes and she seemed alright so I fed them some blackworms. She ate. I have watched her over the last day and she has been as active as usual, spending a lot of time in the current (Eheim spraybar) and bubbles. Her motions are not as crisp as they have been and she seems to have a difficult time keeping the edges of her disk on the bottom though. If she sits still the back edge of her disk tends to roll up on itself. She ate blackworms again today and is still interacting with her tankmate and is very active. I appreciate any thoughts or advice.

do a water change fast and keep it dark add salt 3lbs per 100 gallons, it sounds like the death curl.

There is a thin layer of Estes ultra reef sand. The temp is between 79 and 79.5, the tank is a 48x24x24 120, there are no tankmates (just the male and female), pH is 7.8, ammonia=0 nitrite=0 nitrate~0, I feed once per day and alternate blackworms and market shrimp, I have done ~30% 2x/week and have pythoned out any visible waste in the interim-let me know if you need anything else. There are no visible irritations/injuries to the disk.

Could it be the because of the current created by the rain bar?
Mine also was like that and it got me worried.

does it look like this?

Was worried first time i saw this, but it was a few months ago, I think for my motoro , its caused by current.

but have not seen mine flipped over though.

I did another water change and still have 0s across the board (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate)- she is acting the same and looks like batang_mcdo's picture but more dramatic-doesn't appear to be the current and the male looks great-the one thing i noticed is her belly appears to be very full, i have seen a few huge pieces of waste in addition to the average waste in the past-i wonder if she has an issue passing waste and it is causing problems?

try and get a pic or a video of it.... could have some internal parasites, did you treat it when you got it with prazi pro?

don't have video capability, took some pics and nothing looks out of the ordinary unless you see her in motion, her stomach isn't overly bloated, just full looking now, i did not treat with prazi pro (assume anti-parisite but am not familiar), she was at the distributor for some time and i have had her for a month so i'm not sure about parasites, the black worms i feed them also came from the same distributor
