So i have reduced the lighting time in my planted tank to 8 hours a while back to fight an algae problem. I would like to enjoy more viewing time as I am gone for most of those 8 hours.


Can I setup a blue moon light, for another 7 hours with out helping the algae? I would think I could since the color of the light and the strength wouldn't be the correct amount for plants. Just wanted to run this buy you all.

that should be fine. I am looking at doing the same thing with my tank.

I just picked up a set of those cheap blue LED lights left over from xmas and plan on doing the same this weekend.

mine would look good, does anybody know where i can get a transformer for the moon lights on my 48" coralife compact fixture.

I used an old one from a battery charger.

it wouldnt add to the algae problems.
