Just wondering if anyone uses moonlights. I put a strip over my tank today, and it didn't look as though my arowana's liked it very much. Since they are LED's, and very bright, would it hurt their eyes? Also, is it bad for them to leave the lights on overnight? I believe that they would probably prefer full darkness though.

Any input would be great.

Thanks,
J

for me, i have one led white moon light on a 5' length by 2' deep by 27" height, inside measurements, glass fish tank. does not bother my jar one bit. don't know if that helped or not, just wanted to share.

:iagree:

It will help in lessening with the jumping and injuring themselves.

A must have for aro tanks, the amount of light added will stop most the spook accidents at night.

Wow that's great to know. i did it just because it looks pretty sweet but that makes sense.

Interesting, I've been thinking of moonlights for our pleco tank. Any pictures?

Great input guys. I guess I'll turn my moonlight back on, and snap some pics for u guys, as it does look pretty nice. I suppose they just have to get used to it, since they were scared to swim through it at first.

i've had my homemade moonlights on since i brought home my aro. never had any issues
