Do moon lights work?

If so what color would one choose?

I was looking at these

Tell me what you think :)

I hear red works well but i want to know the opinions of the unwashed masses. This will be going into a tank with piranha so i think red would be cool. There is also a pleco, a Jack Dempsey, and a Texas cichlid if this makes any difference at all.

So let me know :D

i personally like the white moon lights looks more natural to me not sure about which is better, some one else might no more about that than i do,i just like the look of the white light

I have blue moonlights on my reef and I love them.

When you say... "do they work?" What do you mean? Yes, they work... but, what are you looking for them to do?

I bought these for my 125

A little pricy, but i dont regret it a bit. They look/work great! The only downside to these is their cords are a bit short - but nothing a power strip/ext. cord doesnt fix.

I used these for my 75:

They worked/looked good, and i got luck because they fit inbetween the wood on the canopy so i didnt have to screw them in. I like the first ones i posted better though...

When I said do they work, I meant do you think that they work well enough to simulate nocturnal light?
Thank you Emily, I will look into these.
Do you use them much?

I have these on my reef. They simulate the natural 29 day lunar cycle. They dim and brighten over the course of the month. If you don't want that, then you can also control the lights manually and keep them set at your desired setting. Good stuff.

I use my moon lights every night - i have timers set. I really enjoy watching the fish in their nocturnal states :)
