Where the sun never shines
Does anyone here uses blue moonlights to light up their tank throughout the nite? and if so does it cause any algae? thinking bout getting a 48" setup but heard that they will cause algae.

I run mine 24/7 and have no algea problems

I can back that up.

I have one as well and it hasn't cause any algea problems. It also helped keep my aro from spooking at night when my catfish were out and about.

does anyone use em with nocturnal cats? how well do they work with em?

It's the only way I get to watch my rapheal cats, also helps to keep my silver aro from being spooked. You may be confusing these moon lights with the actinic blue lights which can cause algae to grow, although there are other factors that contribute to algae growth.
