Came home this morning to find my moori's nuchal hump turned pinkish white. It's always had a pinkish hue, but it drastically changed overnight.. Any ideas? I know he's super old, and the past few months has really cut down on eating and movement. Is he just getting old and dying? All other tankmates are fine and my water is perfect (just did a w/c in pics) Thanks guys/gals.

How old is he? He looks healthy otherwise? Is he acting any different other than the appetite and movement changes.

He 'was' an old man. had him for about 2 years and was told he was about 6 when i got em. Got home from dinner and he was stuck to the filter intake. Put him in a hospital tank and he was done within 30 minutes or so. Boooo. Weird it was all so sudden. R.i.p. little man with those big ol' lips.

Sorry to hear that... He was very handsome, especially with those lips lol gotta love them... Thats one of the things that I found intriging about the blue dolfins is those big ol' lips... I just picked up 3 2 inchers last week can't wait for em to grow!... R there any others in your tank?

Awesome. These are one of my favorite African cichlids

I've never been a fan of africans, but fell in love with this guy! He was in a ca/sa tank, but everyone respected him. Ph was never a problem. Hopefully yours turn into headturners greenearthlawns, he was always everyones favorite.

Lol Thanks!! I hope so too... I've seen pics of some really nice ones, they mature slowly though so it's gonna be a long wait for mine to blossom
:( I don't like waiting for fish to mature It's so hard especially when they grow really slowly... But I know it will be worth the wait! Again, sorry to hear about your big lipped beauty~ r.i.p.

Tell me about it i want the end result for the price of the little one! It's worth it though.. Thanks again, see ya around!

Sorry about your fish. I wonder if he had some kind of infection in his hump. Might explain the color changes you mentioned and also the quick death. I always have liked the blue dolphins too. I have one, you guys are right, they sure do grow very slow, very very slow. Even my frontosa out pace him in growth rate LOL. I met someone on another site that named his female dolphin "Angelina Jolie" because of her full lips. I thought that was real cute.
