I did my research and want 2 dragon moray eels. I want to raise there food too. It will pay off i hope. I am wondering if a 200 gallon would be enough for 2 of them. Or if there is a smaller tank that would work too. 75-100 is recommended for 1. So what are some good saltwater feeder fish. I heard mollies. But they are fresh and they said fresh dont have the acids salt need.

mollies i know can handle at least brackish water conditions. i dont see why you couldnt have them in fully marine since it will be pretty much short term for each fish as they will wind up food once they get to a certain size

So would i breed them in fresh or salt....? (not the smartest fish keeper here but i do my research always)

im trying to find a good link that i came across a long time ago when i kept some mollies. some fish stores actually sell them in brackish water at the store. very rare though, most stores just keep them in fresh. i will post the link or one similar with the info on them in brackish or possibly even marine.

I believe mollies need to be in salt in order to breed, I haven't tried them but I am sure that is how it goes. I do know though that you can indeed keep mollies in full salt. So if the eels don't eat them you just leave them till they do eat them.

you will see down the page some in the section "care and feeding" that they are often kept in saltwater aquariums. right underneath it just gives a brief paragraph with how many fry etc. but theres a link also. just seems like if you know how to breed them in freshwater(which isnt hard at all, sometimes you even wind up buying a pregnant one and didnt know it) you will be able to do so in saltwater.

they dont need salt to breed. i have had some in freshwater that i got from the pet store that were already pregnant, gave birth to the live fry and all. they just got eaten by my other fish because it was unexpected and didnt have a separate tank ready to put the fry in.

Why do you want to feed live? There are so many other things that you can feed out there to your wet pets.

Is this the moray youre talking about?

If so, theres no way I would chance feeding live to it.
