Never kept a full grown red devil because they go insane in every tank I've tried once they hit 6", would I have better luck if I can get a pure midas ? I've never owned one but I always see people keeping their midas with other fish on here with success so is it less aggressive than a rd ?

Every fish has a different personality so why not try It out. My 20" dovii is scared of my 10" red devil but my dovii isn't aggressive at all and just hides in the corner. Maybe get a bigger fish to put it in check?

True red devils are some of the nastiest fish out there. True Midas are usually less aggressive than rds. Midevils are hit and miss.

Also my opinion.

But each guy has its own personality.

A true red devil and yes you would have better luck with a true midas. Good luck I'd get it from Jeff Rapps or something. Most stores mix them up of have midevils.

Curious that in my bull stable ( non certifiable midas or rd's, so all Midevils ) the more midaslike are much more agro than the rd' s look alikes.....

Of course.
