If you were to give the media a %, how would you set up your Sump?

50/50 Ceramic Rings/Bio Balls

25/75 Ceramic Rings/Bio Balls

75/25 Ceramic Rings/Bio Balls

Etc...

Well I have 35lbs of brand new C.Rings. And about 30-40 glns of bio balls.
I'm trying to see where I should put more effort into... Rings or Bio Balls?

Scrubbies catch my eye like crazy but it's to much of a pain to take out the B.Balls to add scrubbies (maybe in the future but this DIY 100gl sump has drained me Lol

Try something more cost effeicient: SPONGES..........

I have sponges making up 90% of my sump media. The other 10% is a handful of bio balls that I will soon be removing and replacing with more sponge. For my set up at least, bio specific media is a waste of the space.

100% ceramic. ill never use bio balls or scrubbies again. ceramic media can be completely submerged, and that means no messy baffles, dividers, or drip trays.

Well I think my DIY 100gl just told me C.Rings are to heavy.

Guess I'll be on a BioBall hunt. I realy want to keep the same media theme. If I can't find any then I'll try out the Scrubbies.

Thanks all
