Based on some great ideas using clearance priced holiday lights I thought I would give it a try, but using LED rope light instead of a string of lights.

Philips 9ft. blue rope lights $12 regular price, $5 and up on sale. I got mine at Target. The lights come with some handy clips that can be ziptied or screwed into place.

It was a simple integration into my current light fixture.

Looks a little bright, may just be the pic though. Is it a little dimmer in person?
I looked at walmart after Christmas but was to late to get light sets. May go with this idea though.....looks good IMO

It's not as bright as the picture, but brighter than a store bought setup. I may experiment with some various ways to decrease the total light output by using a dimmer or blacking out some of the lights.

LOL i thought of this exact same idea cruising through canadian tire just havent put into action! Nice job by the way installing the right into your fixture.
