I realize that the endlicheri's are one of the larger species and have read the primer multiple times. (Just a good read:)) But in reality, how long could an Endli be housed in a 125 wide (72x24x17)? Do they have a relatively fast rate of growth when small, then slow down? Just trying to weigh my options and decide if an Endli is in my future.

I think it depends on the fish and the food water and tank mates that is a good size tank . you should be able to keep the Endie in there for a while .I had a 180g 72x24x24 and my endies where in there foe may be 2 yr they were about 6 to 7 inches and there were 3 I took them out about 18 19 inches now they are in a 364g 130x36x18 and they are 22 inches now. I up graded my tank because I wanted more polypterus and room for them to grow. ther are 6 fish in the tank.

they grow kinda slow. fast at first tho. expect 14-18" within the first 2 years or so, but it'll be a while before you see an adult.

i got mine at 10" almost a year ago, its like 14" now and it seems a lot fatter.
