Hey dudes, just a pointless post here, but here goes.
Ive just got a new fluval fx5 today and WOW what a filter, powerful, quiet, cheap, looks kinda mean :evil_lol:, seriously though for anybody new to keeping big fish/or not so new, you wont find a better, decent, or more powerful filter for your money.
Rant over, just my 2 pennies/cents worth. Peace:chillpill:

yah, its great at filtration!!!

the only problem i see with it is the lid and the way u open and close it. those orange plastic cylinders are weak as hell and it takes a few minutes to open and close it. also the rim connectors are a b!tch for some tanks. there's plenty of people on here who have broken their rim connectors and/or didn't use them altogether. i broke my rim connectors and wedged them on my tank.

also the first time i tried to open the lid, one of those little orange cylinders under the lid snapped in half... i had to wait 2 weeks for the replacement ones to come. i also switched out all the screws and replaced them with better ones. some of the screws were cross threading and jamming up, that's what caused the orange cylinder to break..

over all its a great filter and it gets the job done. its just the little things that bug me about it. i would buy another one for sure if i had another tank to use it on.

this is my 2 cents.
