Ok, right now my 55g has a Whisper 60 on it. I probably need more filtration on it and was going to throw on another one, everyone says dont' use carbon so I'm gunna remove that but what can i add for more bio filtration?

make a small wet dry for it or throw on an ac 110 and keep the whisper, plenty of filtration there.
aquaclear110 seems to be the favoite around here but other options are emp400 and Penguin350B.
A canister also would be very benificial. SOO many options.....some of the good name brands are Rena/Filstar, Eheim, Hagan/Fluval

I saw on here in someones post that they used the teflon pot scrubbers for more bio-filtration because they have much more surface area. I bought some and am trying them in a cpl of my tanks now with no problems. I found them in the local dollar store 3 in a pack for $1.00.
Try a different dollar store, should be 6 for a buck...

I have an aqua clear 500/110 and a penguin 350 bio wheel. And it keeps my tank crystal clear all time.
Just saw your post on the petsmart thing, I think i'm gunna run over to Petsmart and pick up an aquaclear 110!
