i have 2 o's and a fire eel in a 100gal 7x1.5x1.5 ft could i add a species of polypterus

yup you can but may have to go for something already big enuff not to be swallowed by your Os
and might have to increase the filteration

How big are your current fish? Are they fully grown or still small? Yeah, I agree with above, if your fish are already grown and big, make sure to get another fish who is too big to fit in their mouth.

An Ornate bichir should be fine.

Btw, are you sure your tank is 7' long. At those dimensions, I calculate 117 gallons. A 100g tank would be 6' x 18" x 18".

Senegal or delhezi would also work. Just make sure it is large enough not to get eaten. Giant danios work for dithers. Clown loaches are very interesting, they would work. Although the oscar might eat them eventually, so maybe thats not a good idea.
