I jut got this guy and he is about 6". My last Pleco was 14" and now lives in a heated pond. My last was a common and this guy looks nothing like him.

Thanks so much for your help. He came with group of fish I rescued for a local rescue group. I love to help them and I will do pick ups here un Vancouver, WA. and bring them here until I can get them to their store which is an hour away on Oregon. They are now called PDX Fish Guys and they do awsome work. I told him I wanted to keep this Pleco because I have been looking for one with a little size to go with my Frontosa and Tire Track Eel and he was perfect. I have only had him about 3 days and the picture was taken 24 hours after I picked him up. He is a great worker and has cleaned my 85 gallon tank in 2 days. I will have to get him a piece if wood because I read they need some. Once again thanks for your help.

Pretty hardy, only grow to about 12", but they have an attitude. Will usually dominate any other pleco in the tank
I dont think they need wood in their diet, but they will eat algae off it and hide under it, so no worries having giving them a piece.
I have found mushroom to be their favourite food, they will eat shrimp all day too, but too much is bad for them.
